It's been done on road racing bikes. Ducati was testing one last year for moto gp or wsb. The frame was incredably stiff to the point of making the bike "twitchy" feeling the way it transmitted road vibrations. Their is also an all carbon fibre custom "harley" that I've personaly looked at. F-1 cars have been nearly all carbon fibre for several seasons now. In a street, off-road or atv application cost will probably be the hold up at this time. It's not an enginering issue.

 

my friend had this mountain biking magazine and i think there was a carbon fiber chassis moutain bike in there. i cant remember for sure. but it weighed in under 20 pounds i believe. just think all of the performance gains u would get with a carbon fiber chassis. you would lose all kinds of weight. it would be insane....
