Default cr500 ex

How hard would it be to put a cr500 motor in a 400ex. I've seen it done but I bet it would take alot of work.

If you have any machining/fabrication skills it wouldnt take that much money but would require a bit of time. With no skills, it will be rather expensive.

Even after you've gotten it in (the motor, roll eyes) you're still in for a lot of fine tuning.

A buddy of mine has built and sold a couple for people around here. Doesn't take him that long to build really and he says its not really that hard at all but then again he has been doing custom builds for quite a few years now. The last one was ported, polished, shaved, custom big bore, custom pipe, custom intake and runnin on alky.. Super fast, looked awsome and when that big 500 crackeled to life it would send most other bikes runnin for cover. If you dont mind spending some coin and like wrenching on your own bike then its a great swap. If you are broke and cant tell a flat head from a phillips screw driver then its definatly not for you.
