Well, it all depends on what type of riding you do and how much you want to spend?

-You can increase engine displacement (big bore / stroke kit)

-Cam(s)

-Higher compression

-K&N or UNI air filter

-White Bros, DG, Graydon Proline, and FMF are all well known exhaust manufacturers (take note if the pipe your looking at has a spark arrestor)

-Gearing (increase front sprocket size)

-Holeshot tires if you're looking for a great straight line tire with moderate slide (the wider they are the less they slide and vise versa)

-Carb and/or jetting (don't forget to re-jet after installing an aftermarket exhaust)

You may want to talk with Jeremy from Rage Performance. He's out of CA and an X-Pro. I've spoke with his several times regarding mods for my Tecate. They sell a lot of internal mods for ATV's (i.e. pistons, cams, big bore kits, cylinder work, etc.)

Hope this gives you a step in the right direction.

I recently installed a K&N jet kit, and a unifilter on my 2000 warrior and it was a noticable power increase. Next for me will be exhaust,I think a person would be happy with any good brand of pipe,FMF,White Bros.,Big Gun,etc... But stay away from the older (but cheaper$)designs like cobra,RCM,etc...If you want more power after that then you get into the motor(high compression piston,cam,porting,etc..But definitally do the intake & exhaust mods first. Also it,s a good idea to get a clamp-on style filter ,Pro design makes a kit for this, this way you can 1 - see with your own eyes that the filter is seated properly & 2 - run with the airbox lid off for more airflow.

I think holeshots are pretty good tires they give you increased traction but they also slide. I also think supertrapp IDS2 exhaust are good becasue they have the tunable diffuser discs on the inside. This means you can make it faster on top end( which also increases sound levels) or more power on low end(which decreases sound levels)depending on how many discs you have in it. It also means that the discs don't get muddy like other tunable pipes. The disc also has a spark arrester.

1988 Warrior,
Wiseco high compression piston and connecting rod, Bored .30 over, K&N Air filter, with flow filters in air box lid, k&N Jet kit, Supertrapp IDS2 Exhaust, holeshot front and rear mounted on douglas aluminum .190 rims, 15 tooth front sprocket, 40tooth rear, DG nerf bars, outerwears shockcovers, ceet gripper seat
