At home porting? racelogic?
#1
I saw this "at home" porting kit on ebay from www.racelogic.com I was just wondering if anybody has done this? Is it a waste of money? I just would like some advice, think I could just smooth the ports out and that would be a minor port job? Has anybody messed with their porting with good results? Let me know. I would think that even if you just smoothed the ports out some it would run better? or will I seriously screw things up?

I bought this port kit off of ebay for my banshee and it is well worth the money. It raises the intake port by about a 1/4 inch and drops it down by about 1/8.There is a good increase in power and how smooth it is.It took me about three to four hours to port both sides once it was taken appart.I to was skeptical about buying it but it was well worth the money.

what did you use to smooth it out? sandpaper? dremel? I just figured it couldnt hurt anything as long as you dont hack the crap out of it.. stock looks pretty crappy.. all rough and stuff..
For the racelogic template did you need any special tools or anything??
Anybody else messed with their porting at home??

I used a air die grinder but im sure a drimmel tool as well.I had some sand paper that fit in my die grinder to smooth it out. Also used the sand paper to polish the exhaust ports.Anything you can do to make it flow better will help the performance. The good thing about this kit is it is reusable so you can make money with it by porting other peoples banshees,or at least have it pay for itself.
