Banshee key switch
#1
I want to remove the key switch on my 1999 banshee. Can I just unplug it and take it off, or do I have to rewire (or bypass) the ignition wiring system? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks Tony! I have one more question. If i purchase a Pro Design tether kill switch (or one similar to it) does it plug in to the ignition wires that I unplug from the key switch, or does it plug in somewhere else?

Yes, you can just cut the 2 wires from the ignition switch and splice them together. This will mean you just have to turn the red switch on the handlebars to "run" and kick it over. I did this but i hooked the wires to a toggle switch and hid it somewhere( cant tell ya where or youll be able to steal my banshee! *L*) so i can turn the ignition off when i dont want someone trying to ride it. Only I know where the switch is..*S*

There are 4 wires going into the Key Cylinder on a Banshee. You need to spice some of them together. I did it when I lost the key the my '99 Banshee... but I don't remember the colors. But since then, I disconnected the engine on/off switch, and wired in a Tether cord instead.
