steve250R,
As bpace pointed out, nerfs aren't designed to be safety nets for flying feet..better riding habits/position does that. I use Graydons on my Warrior & as a recovering victim of a near head-on with a Kawasaki KX bike Jan 9 I can attest to the strength & safety aspects of the Graydons. He apparently hit me in the front 1/4 of my quad behind the front fender; we were both at about 3/4 throttle, & the damage to my ride consisted of a flat tire & a bent rim at the bead. The main impact was taken by the nerf with no visible marks. If not for these nerfs I'm sure I'd have a lot of lower body damage in addition to the broken scapula & brain clot I ended up with.
On another note, I have to give credit to wearing full gear when riding. If not for the Shoei helmet, chest protector, boots, etc., I wouldn't be giving this lecture now.
By definition, accidents are unplanned events, so plan for the unplanned.

If hot_shoe says to plan for the unplanned then I would suggest you look at the rear of the foot peg on all nerfs. Nobody is a perfect rider and you can get your feet down behind your peg and caught there on AC nerfs. I know because I have them and have done just that, but only once and at low speed over a tall jump and it nearly broke my ankle. Hey S**t happens. I like my AC nerfs, but I can see a slight safety improvement on nerfs. Just my 2 cents

I also remember Dirt Wheels slamming DG products less than a year ago in a 400 EX hop up article that said (don't quote me) straight from the box, there had a product that was cracked and the foot pegs always came loose after installing the nerfs. You might watchout for that if you buy DG.

Good Luck.

You are right ADAMS, I had that problem with my footpeg bolts coming loose too, but what I did was bought longer bolts from a fastener supply store and put red lock tite on them. For right now that is really my only complaint on DG nerfs. Thankyou, for reminding me about that ADAMS it has been so long ago that I forgot all about it.
