Try howstuffworks.com its a pretty neat webbsite and it does have some two and four stroke engine stuff. Check it out!

A suggestion: read "Fantastic Voyage," and "Fantastic Voyage II," both accessible from the home page ("Tech Tips") of the ATV Connection. The former literally walks the reader through four-stroke engine operation, while the latter does the same for two-stroke-cycle engines.

(This is not the first time I've made this suggestion; however, no one, to my knowledge and belief, has EVER followed it! If you do, you may be the first!)

Regarding "automatic" transmissions, little can be found on the continuously-variable belt drives now available on production ATV's. Even Chilton's "ATV Handbook" (# 9123) only scratches the surface with scant basic onformation on the subject.

Other posters may have better references.
