Perhaps you can fix it with a Heli-coil tap and drill kit...... I've used those kits in some tough places and they seem to work pretty well...... I'm not sure how well they would seal in the oil but I think it would probably work as long as the oil is not under a lot of pressure.....
If not that I've heard of people using rubber plugs but I'm not sure how that works....

most auto parts stores carry oversize drain plugs in metric sizes... first time put grease on the new plug run it it, and pull it out, and wipe the grease off.... the grease is used to catch the metal shavings made by the new plug in cutting new threads... then re-install... hope this helps

Got it fixed.Got the old plug out and put in a oversized self tapping drain plug. The idiot before me has a coarse threat bolt that he cut off and ground down to fit and put some jb weld on it and jammed it in.

I would have used an helicoil with a brass taper washer but I didnt know about oversize self tapping drain plugs... now added to my notes.. the grease trick too
