I posted this in the e-mail forum a while ago,but this looks like a better place to post it and keep adding updates.

I'm currently about 50% finished with a conversion using an '85 XR-350R motor in a '89 LT-250R chassis.

I finally got the mods to the frame(motor & exhaust mounts)done.I'm waiting on good weather(anything above 32) to sandblast and paint the frame. Then start reassembly with lots of new parts. The old LT was in need of much maintainance anyway so I'm doing it all at once.

I live in eastern OH and the finshed bike will be used mainly for hill climbing.

One question I have is does anybody have the old torque/HP number for the LT motor????I have the weights of both and the HP on the XR but can't find the LT specs anywhere.I know I'm gaining lots of low end but would like a better picture of overall power.

East Liverpool..About 45 min from hillsville.
where or what is wnf????

I hope my project turns out as good as it sounds.
But right now the weather is not helping.I can't sandblast the frame inside and in all this snow and freezing cold I can't do it outside either.

I ride at hillsville alot too.maybe I'll see you there sometime.

What is the HP of the XR350? I am pretty sure it is similar the the ATC350X engine which produces about 25HP at the rear wheels, but Honda has always built more HP into their bikes...

I found it listed a couple places between 30 and 35hp.

As far as I can remember the ATC350X motor is 2 valve and I know the XR350R motor is $ valve RFVC.I've seen the ATC motors in both atc's and TRX frames but don't remember exactly how they were made.most of the bottom end stuff uses the same part # so I'd say the bottom end is real close to the same.

That's kinda waht gave me the idea..I rode a couple of 350X motored TRX250R's and thought they were pretty impressive.I just went one step further.
