???? what would be a good 4x4 atv to preform such a transplant on???an wht type of trans??? belt drive cvt or or older clutch style manual of some sort??? all time 4x4 or a in an out type?? any ideas yall??

I think if I was going to try to fit a diesel in a quad I'd go with one of the big bores and maybe even one of the 2-up machines. The Polaris Sportsman X2 has a really strong suspension in the rear. I think if the CVT can take the abuse of a 4 cycle big bore engine it should take the diesel output. Just my own thoughts. Diesel power comes on in low rpms so I'd get a clutch that engages pretty low. Not sure what's out there. I'm reaching the limits of my knowledge here.

still like this idea,..lifes keep me to busy an to broke to start collecting pices,..but fixin to bid on a kubota diesel lawn tractor at a auction an might get lucky,...the motor on it is a kubota D600 an is 600 cc's an 16 hp 3 cylinder ,..1 hp less than new artic cat!! an should weight in at bout 85 pounds with radiator an all,..still lost on transmission optionsm tractor got a hydrostatic dont know nuttun bout them,..but in time might get sumtin accomplished one day...
