I am choosing between the White Bros E-Series pipe and the supertrapp IDS2 for my 400ex. I trail ride and don't want anything too loud. These both have disks so I can change them. Which pipe will produce stronger power with a K&N power kit? Are they both good quality? I want the pipe I buy to last fo a while because they cost $300-450(canadian prices) I saw the supertrapp, and it looked really good. The guy selling them said that the supertrapp is one of the best pipes on the market. He also said the White Bros was a copy of the supertrapp. What should I buy? Thanks.

I just put a White Bro's on my 400ex. It improved power only moderately- but I still need to jet the carb to compensate for the different air mixture from the slip on. As for noise- the slip on (as with all the others) are EXTREMELY loud compaired to stock. My 400ex sounds like a Harley now. But I like that noise... to me, it's a positive thing.
If noise is your concern, don't get a slip-on... keep the stock pipe and maybe port or cam your engine.

Has anyone or do you know of anyone who has installed a White Bros, E-Series Universal mount muffler? I have a Supertrapp IDS2 at the moment but because I can take it off at a good place from the S-Pipe I can easily install another muffler if I want to. Providing the tubes match up. Also is the W.B. external disk? It looks like it. Also how many disk do they come with?

I installed the Supertrapp on my Kodiak before the K&N air filter or jet kit. I did not notice any power gain at all. I did a test. Now that I have the jet and filter on the supertrapp is faster on top end than the stock muffler.

Thanks for any info anyone can give me.

go with the white brothers. It isn't as loud as the big gun but out-performs it by 2/10ths of a horse. I have mine loaded with 18 discs and k&n filter, wb rev kit and about 162 jet. It rocks. The only one I would second is the dmc if I was planning engine mods soon.

if u'll look in a recent Dirtwheels mag, i don't remember exactly what month but it was just a couple months ago, there is a pipe test on a ton of different pipes with dyno charts and all
from what i remember though, surprisingly the white bros. E-series was one of, or the most power making pipe of all of them
