What is the lowest sea level banshee dome on pump?

There's a lot that's been posted about this. 20cc's is as low as you want to go for stock porting and aftermarket pipes. Anything lower will make it LOSE power... You can even run a 4 degree advance key with 20 cc domes or 0.040" off the stock head. Jetting is key, so run 320 mains at first, maybe dropping to 310's or 300's if you are a bit fat, but run without the airbox lid and with a proflow kit. I can run 320's all day long and never foul plugs and never ping or overheat, even in the dunes in 80 degree weather....

You have to rejet when you go down in size of domes and have higher compression?
I am at between 1000-2000ft.
I am going to be running the Toomey T5 pipes with a milled head .030 and will be running toomeys jet kit, with 280 mains. Will I have to go up in size, like 300? Or do you have to rejet when you get the timing adv. plate? I am getting one soon, so please help me out.

Rog...I live between Chicago and Milwaukee. According to the airport info around here the elevation is between 600 and 750 feet respectively. What Kind of jetting are you using and do you ever overheat? Right now I have T5's, bored carbs, and Boyeson reeds. I know you don't have these mods but I was wonderiing if you know what jets you are running. I'm not planning to get a cool head.

H300F,
I run T-5's with ,030 off of the head, 4 degree timing advance, .020 Vito's pistons, and the Toomey jet kit(with needles, vents and unifliter) I e-mailed Stuart at Toomey with the very same question, and he said 280's would right on the money. Boy was he right! Don't be tempted to change the pilot either, make sure the hose between the two carbs at the choke is securely attached. He also suggested Boyesen 2 stage reeds(nothing fancy, they dyno as good or better than much more expensive set-ups) and NGK B9-EVR plugs. The plugs are a little pricey, $6.00 each.

Holyman,
I am running the Dynojet Jet kit with 280 mains. I am also running the Dynojet needle (installed by the local banshee guru, so I don't know the clip position).
My Banshee has not overheated since I put the Coolhead on, but it did prior to the Coolhead/pipes addition. I'm running stock carbs, and stock reeds. My next mod will probably be advancing the timing by 4 degrees (probably using the Vito's degree key - installed one on my son's Blaster with great results).
From what I understand regarding the stock Banshee head, if you shave the head, it's best to go ahead and have the domes recut for a better, more effecient combustion chamber. I did some checking locally here, and found out that shaving and recutting the head would run about $80 or so.
Regards,
Rog
