ATV PARTS COMPANIES

Here is another view from "one of the badguys". I am a manager with Recreation Unlimited in Portsmouth,VA. I rarely respond to forums but this seemed like one that was coming from the right direction, trying to point people in the right direction instead of just slamming names.
We see and hear peoples complaints and suggestions regarding our company and others. We also understand that there are numerous areas in which we need improvement. Customer Service seems to be an area with everyone. This industry is extremely competitive and the clientle are very knowledgable so it does not take long to weed out the "weak". Cust. Service goes a long way in keeping a client base. As a consumer people need to know how to tell the difference in good and bad service. These forums are a great way of finding that out.
After rambling on about this, I do have a few things that consumers should understand. One is that everyone makes mistakes, if they are numerous and follow a pattern than there is a problem. If the company made the mistake than they should rightfully fix it ASAP. The second is one I'm sure everyone knows about and that is backorders. It is not financially feasible for a company to keep it all in stock, so most of us resort to dropships, special ordering. Most will tell you that they have it in stock and then proceed to order it themselves. That is where the problem of backorders happens. A good company will call you and let you know of the problem, a bad one will give you the runaround. Beware of those who have it all, all the time. Finally, support those who support the sport. Have fun and safe riding and feel free to e-mail me at Dwats76@aol.com.

To the guy from Rec. Unlimited.....
I had been looking for some bolt on numbers for my fiance's front screened number plate on her Mojave. She races..GOD I LOVE HER! Anyway, these things are hard to find, but I did find them on your web page and proceeded to call and order them. After proccessing my credit card I was told my plastic 8" bolt on numbers were in the mail. 2 friggin' weeks later I got the envelope. What I got was 3 packs of Maier stickon 4mil numbers. I imediately called to complain. When I asked when I could expect the numbers the rude lady told me that the plastic numbers were not made anymore. I was also told that I needed to send them back and the add just needed to be changed on the web page. That was 2 months ago and it still hasn't changed. This is exactly what it STILL SAYS....
PLASTIC NUMBERS
8” plastic numbers for vented number plates, number plate hoods, and vented chest protectors. Can also be used on front number plates and side panels. They allow you to change numbers from one race to the next, and won’t blow off at the car wash. Specify black, red or white. Sold as each, with mounting hardware included.
RETAIL $.99
Unless you cnvince me otherwise, I will never order anything from Recreation Unlimited again. Cut me a good deal on a steering dampner and we might talk.

Back to the top. I'm also hoping to see more responses from everyone that's been doing business for several years. The more we find out who's really good and who's really bad, the fewer of us will have to deal with the bad "players" and be able to support the companys that work really hard on delivering great service.

Yeah... well I was going to start a website completely devoted to good and bad ATV parts companies. I have it done on my hard drive, but hosting costs quite a bit of money. If someone is interested in hooking up and doing this kind of website (a website where you rate ATV parts companies and post comments) let me know. Like I said, I have it done, and I will register a domain name. I just need some help with the hosting (and no banners). Unless you guys think a website like this would be very successful, then I would go ahead and pay for website hosting.

Pam....I didn't know you worked at Powroll. Don't you think it's a little rude for you to bash other companies like Four Stroke Tech without letting people know you work for Pout-Roll??
Until next time remember......

I ordered a pair of Skat Trak 12 paddle Edges from Magic Racing 6 weeks ago last Friday. I was told they would take three weeks. At two days less than three weeks, I called for a status. The guy on the phone told me he would check and call me back. After he did not call me back, I called again and was told they would be a couple more weeks. Last week after many calls and more run around from Magic's, I called Skat-Trak myself. Magic's did not even have a pending order from Magic's, nor was there an order for the 12 paddles Edges I wanted for anyone. I called Magic's back and told them about my call to Skat-Trak. Once again, I was told I would be called back by Mike, the owner. Low and behold, he actually called me this time. Mike told me that they were shipped Haulers instead of Edges. I asked how long those had been in and he said 3 or 4 weeks. So assuming that part is true, when I had called 2 weeks earlier to check on the status, they already had the wrong tires and had outright lied about checking on them. If the tires were reordered at the time the wrong ones came in, I still would have had the correct ones in before my trip to Little Sahara last week. Then again, if the wrong tires came in associated with my order, why was I not called and told my order was in? It is more likely that the tires were never ordered from Skat-Trak in the first place.
