TRAILBLAZER PROBLEM
#21
You don't have to drain the gas, just make sure the petcock is off before you remove the fuel line from the carb.
As far as taking the carb apart just remove the bowl, then get to the pilot and main jet with a small screwdriver, remove them and then the needle jet should slide out (the needle jet is the brass jet in the center that the jet needle goes in). Other than taking the slide assembly apart (seperating the spring, needle, and plate) thats all I did.
Soaking will not work on varnish deposits, you need to spray and rub it off. spray in every orafice you see (be careful of sprayback, I got a dose of carb cleaner in the eye, not a good feeling) Get a set of small pipe cleaners to do the jets, just spray then insert pipe cleaner and ream it back and forth. The jets are so small so you really can't see inside so just spray alot and ream them with pipe cleaners.
The most likely place you'll actually see varnish deposits will be at the bottom of the bowl (inside) and the tip of the jet needle.
Just take your time and you won't break anything, it's really not as hard as you think.

ive tried the gas ,ive put 3 new spark plugs in it last week, thats what i thought it was.do you remeber how much the reverse limiter switch cost?does any know what is causing the clicking noise.would the clucth cause this, bogging down.the clicking noise is it a sign of the clutch wearing.i can hear something smacking the cover.thanks everyone

I'm 14 don't know much about Polarises or automatics but some. Maybe the clutch internals (like the cams, arms, springs, helix, etc.) are sticking, loose, or rusted. It runs at low-speed but won't rev much higher right? I would suggest checking the clutch drive and driven pulley internals to see if they are bonding or loose. Because if they are, then the gearing may be too tall causing the bogging. Hope that helps

sorry dont remember cost. but i know i have not had any problems since i changed it . call your local dealer to see if you can test it. i know around here thier is no returns on elec. parts. so it would be nice if you new someone with a the same kind of switch. i dont think it has to be a trailblazer if im not mistaken their all the same..
hope this helps you
