Honda 750 4cyl. Sand Drag Quad ?
#1
I have a 1978? Honda 750 inline 4cyl bike engine that came out of a custom built chopper. My local MX track owner is putting in a sand drag strip next year and I want to use this engine in a quad frame to compete. My question is what will be the best frame to start this project with. Im thinking a LT 500,or maybe a banshee. Anyone here built one of these before? Also what size of rear tires would be best. Engine is stock as far as I know w/K&N filters. I just hate to see this engine set there any longer. Its been setting in my shed for about 4yrs. Anyone know about how much this would cost? Im thinking about $800-$1,200 for at least a rolling chasis to start with + a few $100's to freshin up the engine, and a couple $1000 for tires longer swing-arm, new bearings (if needed) and custom built parts. Does this sound about right,or do I have no idea what im about to get into? I dont want it to look good or anything ( custom paint ect.) just be fast.

Hey cdaleRacer
I built one of these about four years ago in a LT250 chassis with a 750 Honda engine, that has an 811 c.c. cylinder kit. If you really want one I'll sell ya mine, it is currently registered, has 25 inch 10 paddle taller haulers on aluminum wheels on the rear, and razors on aluminum wheels up front. All the plastics are new (all white), with a custom seat. If you interested please E-Mail me at dune.crazy@verizon.net.
FYI,
I spent about $4000 to build it( should have spent the money on a nice 250R ) will sell it for $2000.
