Do ATV wheels use a universal pattern? Or, are they brand specific or even model specific?

In other words, will Yamaha wheels bolt to Honda hubs, and vice versa? Kawasaki to Suzuki? Suzuki to Yamaha? etc...

Mmmmm.....sure glad I asked that all important question. Thanks for the replies.

On some of the older and lesser acknowledged ATV's from years past, were they all different as well?

I'm trying to establish a materials list of things to look out for while buying salvaged parts to complete a homebrew quad.

the 87+ Quadracers/Zillas have a five lug pattern. Before that they had a big four lug hub.

Supposedly some people have sawed down their hubs A LOT...

my stupid neighbor claims he sawed some down to accomodate a six inch rim...

He's the stupidest person I have ever spoken to about quads. He claims he put a YZF426 engine in an LT frame, kept it stock, ran an eight second quarter mile and then blew up.

He's special!

Some of the LT250s and quadsports used a 4 on 130. The Honda FL350 Odyssey and FL400 Pilot also have a 4 on 130 rear pattern. Some 250Xs, the FL350 and FL400 have a 4 on 110 front. The Polaris quads are either 4 on 100mm or 4 on 4" (101.2mm) which are close enough to be interchangable.

You can find aftermarket rear hubs for a lot of ATVs to make them 4 on 110.

There might be a chart on Douglas's site.
