side cover installation help, please

How do I correctly install the side cover on my 350X so that the compression relase cable works properly? Currently it doesnt work & feels bound.

iv never ownned one best advice is to call a shop and ask most offen the answers are so simple you can't sleep at night woundering why did i not think of that! or check a manual
