I have an 87 banshee, stock bottom end, fresh top end bored .040 over, FMF pipes and silencers, FMF ram valve. I got the bike back together and when I started it the idle is extremely high. The new carbs are Keihn 34mm with UNI clamp on filters(no air box). I made sure that the carb slides bottom out and are synchronized. Pulling the chokes makes no differences in the idle. With the air screws turned all the way out the idle drops but is still high and the bike back fires out the exhaust. Attempts to contact DG and Keihn have been unsucessful. The bike seems to run lean at an idle which would explain why it idles high, but the plugs are wet, they do not indicate a lean condition. HELP!

Have you checked the engine seals. You are probably sucking air from somewhere. It could be coming from a seal, base gasket, intake gasket, cracked intake boot, or other places. Make sure your cylinder nuts and intake bolts are tight.

Have u tryed to contact team alba? i know they would give u some good advice about it. Also when u put it in gear, the idle changes does it not? when i got my 34mm keihns it done the same thing. You might also want to fix the throttle cable on the handle bars. if it does change when u put it in gear, just give it maybe a day and the problem should stop. mine done the same thing and now they run just fine.
