When my daughters LEM Caymen gets hot it stalls. It acts like it is starving for fuel. It usually starts right back up, but won't stay running. Once it cools down it is OK. I tried running it with the gas cap off thinking that it might be a vent problem (I saw air bubbles in the fuel line from the tank to the carb), but that did not help. If anyone out there can help I would sure appreciate it. By the way, my brother in laws oddysee does the same thing and this would be helpful for him as well.

You might try installing a new plug and doing a test ride & plug read to be sure the engine isn't lean. Since overheating is a symptom of a lean condition you may already stated the problem.

i ve had the same prob with my 85 ody run stall seem to ovrht start stal etc, finally tested stator and cdi box found both to be defective, runs like a champ now, contact triple e i paid $115 for stator and $100 cdi, both were bad in my case, but more than likely its the stator, if your brthr in law changed the low end gear oil he may put too much in which leakes into the fly wheel case and burns out the stator, hope this helps
