I have about 400 miles on my Vinson. The last time I ran it I noticed it was loosing power at about 1/2 throttle. By the time I made it home, it did good just to back into the truck. It idles smooth but boggs when I give it gas and if I pump the throttle, it back fires. I changed spark plugs and checked the bowl for fuel, both were OK. Any suggestions? Thanks

Is it a flat slide carb,or a cv carb? If it is a flat slide,it probably has an accelerator pump, could be hung up,giving you a bad bog, leaning out when you hit the throttle. If it is a cv, could be the diaphram that lifts the slide is ripped or has a hole in it,then you get poor performance from little throttle opening. When you checked the bowl, did you spray out all the passages in the carb? just a little moisture or dirt can wreak havoc in a small passage in the carb.

Thanks for the reply. However, you are talking over my head on what type of Carb. it is. I am not sure. It appears thought that my problem was that I got a hold of some bad gas. It appears to be working ok now. Thanks again for the info.
