Default Clutch belts

On my 2000 Sportsman 500 I have a problem with my clutch. I go through two belts a year. When I put a new belt on it runs top notch. But as soon as I put it under a load such as heavy mudding or plowing snow I start losing performance. In about six moths or so I check the belt and it way below tolerance for width. What is my problem?

Thank you

First question: Do you use low range under loads or when driving under approx 7mph?? This seemed to be the major cause on a lot of belt issues I had. Getting too hot if left in high range and glazing the belt! Only takes once or twice then the belt will further degrade. Plus clutch alignment, creeping etc,can be a factor. OPT

Yes i do always run low range under load or slow riding. And the last time it was checked the clutch was properly aligned.
