91 polaris trail boss 250 4x4 12v or 6v
i have a 91 polaris 250 trail boss,it does not charge the battery but i need to know what type of battery and elec system it has first.
can anyone out there tell me what might be the problem? and what voltage it is?

12 volt system. Takes a 14AA-2 battery.Doesn't matter if it's a Yuasa YB14AA-2, BB14AA-2 Bike Master,etc.The prefix doesn't matter. If you have a new battery and it's not charging 14 volts back to the battery at a little above an idle,then most of the time it's a faulty reg/rectifier.Located under the headlight panel.Here's a cheap place to get a replacement.
