I have a 2003 Polaris sportsman 600 twin and it is stuck in four wheel drive I have changed the front gear case fluid with demand by Polaris
I took the gear case apart and nothing looked bad or broke the only thing that look questionable was what Polaris calls the Roller Trust Bearing it looked bent I took a socket and was able to get it back to its shape all needle bearings seem to be ok I also tested the power from switch to gear case no problem any one have any idea

 

I'd look close at the roll cage itself for any fine cracks. The plastic roll cage #36 and warped armature plates #37 were the most problem areas.After market replacement aluminum roll cages are available now along with some have used John Deere parts.
