My 1996 sportsman is Btb, I think. I replaced my front left cv boot and got a new circlip, part 7670091. It worked when I put it back together. When I went to replace the right I found that the circlip was missing. Got on the website to order another circlip only to find that 7670091, the btb version, was no longer available. So I ordered the Neapco version, 7670092. Any idea if that one will work or not?

 

All you can do is to try and see if the circlip fits. Even the Neapco and BTB shafts holding the circlips show different part numbers. This first year model gave me and customers fits on ordering the right parts and now as some parts are becoming NLA, there is coming a day that it's going to be cheaper to just replace the whole drive shaft with the part number that supercedes both the Neapco and BTB parts which is #2200960.Even this drive shaft # has knock offs on ebay that allow you get away from either one.Polaris Sportsman 500 Front Left or Right Drive Axle 1996 2003 | eBay
