Default 2013 sportsman 500 HO saying engine is overheating,

2013 sportsman 500 HO says engine overheating. I have propped the front up twice and filled the radiator up both times and let the fan kick on and off at least 5 times before it was full. Fan seems to be working well when i do that, but while driving for a bit and I come to a stop the fan is like its not working like it should. It keeps cutting off and on simultaneously. I am loosing fluid somewhere but don't see any leaks in my garage???? Over the last three weeks i have had to add about 5 oz of coolant to it two times... Thanks for any help

Check underneath the water pump housing at the weep hole. If this area is wet the water pump seal may be leaking and need replacing. Make sure the radiator is clean front and rear especially around the fan area. This was a big problem on a lot of the earlier machines and still can be even though the radiator is set a little higher on the later models. The fan sensor on the radiator could be starting to short out or even the fan motor may be.Rather than throwing parts at it,best to get the service manual and go through the cooling tests along with checking amperage draw from the cooling fan. It can help find the problem and save you some $ in the long run.https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail....500-forest-atv

OK I will try that to see if it is leaking, and will check the radiator as well. Thank you for the information
