Struggling to bleed brakes
#1
Ok, '10 550. Should be a simple task right??
Put new pads on and wanted to bleed the old fluid out. Never let the level go down to where it would suck air. First I bled the back brake at foot pedal checking fluid under front lid. Push the pedal 3 times or so then open the bleeder quickly and close it. did this about 3 times and pedal became firm.
Off to front brakes, squeeze brake a few times, bleed quickly, tighten then let go. Did this countless times. I can feel the caliper surging while she was pulling brake handle. When i would check fluid by taking cap off it would release air pressure. did this for about 2 hours, different methods and cannot get pressure to build up WTH am I doing wrong???
I referred to Youtube followed some different videos and yet nothing.
Thank you for any info

I bleed the brakes in on my atp after rebuilding all 4 calipers one front line and replacing rear master cylinder was a real bitch! It has two master cylinders to bleed I bench bled new rear master cylinder off bike till got pressure tried mighty vac but was sucking air in around loose bleeder finally used water bottle with cap drilled hole in it for small plastic clear hose submerged in half bottle half full with fluid. I hooked line up to bleed screw one at a time and left bleed screw loose. pumped brakes till no more bubbles came out moved on to next.I had to put a little silicone grease around bleed screw but with line in bottle [didn't have to close bleed screw every time] was able to bleed them alone and didn't worry about sucking air back into caliper as long as line stayed down in fluid some videos on internet on doing it similar way hope this helps
Good luck
