Default 2002 Polaris 700 Sportsman Carb Problem

I have (what I believe is) a 2002 Polaris 700 Sportsman with a carb problem. I say I think it is a 2002 Sportsman b/c I have entered the VIN (4xACH6882A719135) into different VIN ID websites found in this forum. I believe the 10th digit in the VIN (2) means 2002...but one VIN ID site said my model was a 6X6. Not familiar with what that means. So, Question #1 is: Does the VIN indicate I have a 2002 Sportsman 700? Assuming that is indeed the model, I ordered a carb to address a problem with starting, idling OK, but bogging out as soon as I throttled up. Some websites say their Polaris 700 carbs are for 2002-2006. Others say the carb they are selling fits a 2002...But NOT a 2003. The carb I received has an extra port on it where something is supposed to be plugged in...I have no idea what b/c the carb I took off did not have that port. So, Question #2 is: Is there a difference between 2002 and 2003 model carbs? Question #3 is: If there is no difference, what is the extra port for? Question #4 is: Any suggestions on getting my ATV performing as it should (without spending a mint)? I can get my ATV idling again, but it still boggs totally out upon throttle up. Tks!

I wouldn't post the whole VIN online for any vehicle I own. If the 10th digit is a 2 then it is a 2002. The last time they used a 2 before that was 1972, and they won't use 2 again until 2032. To see if the parts are the same as for other years you can look up your model and see if the part numbers match the other years. Polaris has had Sportsman 6x6 or Big Boss 6x6 ATVs for a long time but you would notice if you had 2 extra wheels. AFAIK they didn't make a 700 6x6.
