I'm sure this has been done before or at least talked about. I have searched all over with no results. I have a 07 ranger xp and also have a 06 sportsman 800. They look like it would be a relatively easy swap. I have seen some sportsman 800 engines for sale on ebay before. Thought if I were to have problems with my 700 I would like to attempt this. Couldn't the sportsman 800 ecm/ecu and clutch all be used?

 

Well I guess since no one has tried this or heard of anyone that has, I will have to attempt it and post results here. LOL

sorry late here. yes the swap would be a bolt in. 800 ecu and clutch ok, as long as pol. hasne't changed the plugs for the ecu.

 

I havent done a swap yet. I thought if I ever had problems with my 700, I would think about trying the swap at that time. I was just curious if this had been done before.
