Default Ranger - Oil Leak Behind Primary Clutch

2005 Ranger has oil leak from output shaft behind primary clutch. What is the basic procedure or where can I find some instructions to change the seal, can I remove the seal after I get the clutch off? I know I need the clutch removal tools. Also need to replace lower control arm ball joints and need to the "how to" on that. I bought this machine used and doing some rebuild; now I know it was a mistake

Clutch seal can be pulled out with a screw, new one tapped in place, I have the balljoint tool, some have been able to heat and use a slide hammer and such,BUT biggest obstacle is if balljoints are badly worn then tool/slidehammer can sometimes suck inner part out and then have to heat and drill to get a hold on main body of balljoint to remove! This sucks! Thats why I'm glad the new Rangers are double a-arms and are finally trying to do away with the struts! I know I dont sound encouraging, but hopefully you wont have this trouble! Good luck

Hey Old P Tech,
I was hoping you could respond to my question. I have the cover off and watching the area for leak to decide if I want to pull the seal. I have pulled seals with the screw method and was hoping that would work but wanted you to someone to confirm the process.I have been in the fighter jet building business for 27 yrs but I still have my ball joint fork from my wrenching days and will give it a try. Thanks, Dante.
