Default Getting best price for new RZR

I just sold my 09 Sportsman Touring, and plan on buying a RZR 570. I got a great deal on the Sportsman on ebay and had it shipped from Florida.
This time I want to actually deal direct with the dealer. The local dealer doesn't deal - MSRP + $500 set up + 6% tax is the best they'll do.

Is this the norm? I'm willing to travel a couple of hundred miles, going as far as WV, Pittsburgh, etc.

I know that some dealers might not charge as much for set up and buying out of state will save on tax. How about getting the thing for less than MSRP?

Never paid msrp on my quads, or anything else I've bought new from a dealer.

Our local dealership is pretty useless as well; they wont deal on price more than a token amount, and their service department is really really bad. An example of their service department, ... I called just two days ago, and told them I wanted to bring in my Rzr XP 900 for its 25 hour first service, where it is supposed to have an engine oil and filter change, transmission oil change, gear oil change in the differentials, and several other items done. I just wanted the first service done right, so thought I would have a dealership do it. I told the dealership what machine I had and what I wanted serviced, and the service tech I was talking to said "those machines only need serviced annually, you don't need to bring it in". Annually? WTF planet is he living on? Well, now I'm just planning on doing the service myself, because like I said, I want it done right. Taking it to the local dealer would be a disaster.

The dealership I use is 109 miles away from where I live, despite the fact that there is the local Polaris dealership right in my town. At the 109 mile away dealership I purchased a new Outlander 1000 XT and a new Rzr XP 900 this fall. They were both new model machines, in high demand, similar to what I would expect a Rzr 570 would be. On both machines I purchased them for $800 off MSRP, plus sales tax and license. There were NO other fees or set up charges added.

Some dealerships want to develop a good relationship with their customers, and have return customers, and some dealers couldn't give a **** one way or another. Your dealership sounds like they couldn't care less if they have a return customer. I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

Yeah, screw MSRP. Never paid it and won't. If you're lookin' to buy a RZR, there are some killer used ones out there all decked out when people upgrade. You just need to know what to look for. If you're uncomfortable buying used then just go new and be done with it. Plenty of deals, just start making phone calls with a number in mind and ask them if they can do it. If not, move on.

BTW: Are you sure you want a 570? Thinkin' you want a XP 900 or a 800 S unless you live in Utah on 50" trail system. Good luck....

$9,600 plus tax? Was that for the RZR or RZRS?
Dilogdp did you end up buying?

I'm trying to decide between a Ranger900 ($14,549), RZR-S 800 ($13,799), or a Jeep Wrangler ($??????).

Default RZR purchase

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm still figuring out which one to buy, new/used, where to buy, etc.

I'll considering USED, especially now that I know a couple of guys that own RZRs. dave

I'd buy used b4 ever buying new, seen dealers weasel their way out of way to many warranty issues and then get calls from the "feel good" committee at (won't name the company but it sounds a lot like BRP) telling me that they HAVE to take the technicians word on such issues. I've seen cats that weren't even 30 days old detonate and they wouldn't honor their KAWASAKI motor warranty. Best thing to do is buy your atv used and when something breaks, google it or youtube it and save a 400 dollar bill from a dealer, get educated and do it yourself because you will never like a machine better than the one u know inside and out
