Default predator jetting question

Thanks guys, I guess I'll try a 170 first then maybe back down to 160-165. I'll keep you posted - I should have it installed by Thursday this week. By the way, I have never messed with a carb before - can someone give me some tips on changing the jet.

Thanks,
Jeff

First, turn off the gas. Looking in from the left side of the machine (viewed like you're sitting on it) on the bottom of the carb there's a small diameter hose...smaller than the other two, they're the vents. Just above that is a bowl drain screw. Back that off an wait til you don't see any fuel running through it anymore...you can catch it in a container if you like. Loosen up the clamp on the front of the carb, the one hoding it on the rubber intake boot. Wiggle the carb back and forth til it's free. I normally take off the fuel line to gain a little more movement. Now, like JJ had posted earlier, those carb bowl screws really like to strip. You can take a small Vise-grip to clamp on and break them loose before you try the phillips head approach. Get the replacement screws like he suggested, w/ lockwashers, and or loctite. Once the bowl is off, you'll see the main jet.
