Default Scrambler 500 questions?????????

don't let tha 700 fool you. yeah it has more power, but it is geared more towards workin. You will be surprised where the scrammy will go and what it will go over! I weigh about 215 and it hauls my fat a$$ up some pretty massive hills. You will definately like it!

Keep in ind that if you plan on running a lot of stuff over or getting stuck a lot, you may want to pick up full skids plates (a-arm, chassis, and swingarm) as well as a winch. If you are well enough equipted, you can go almost anywhere a sportsman can go.

absolutely on the skid plates! and you are right. the scrambler will pretty much go anywhere! unless you completely bury it up to the seat in mud like I did a couple of weeks ago!

Default Scrambler 500 questions?????????

ryankmiller,
the turning radius has not been worked out on the
500 h.o... it's 82" vs 76" for the 600/700 machines.
The scrammy is 170 lbs lighter than the 700 and
turns better/easier and has a lower cg that makes
it superior on the trail.. especially if things get a little
fast...it is very good in mud, just won't protect you quite
as well as a 700 and it is geared more for fun trail riding
than utility like the 700.. Either will do what you want to
do with one, it's just the 700 is more comfortable, and will
haul and pull more ... the scrammy will be more fun on
the trail and when things get fast..from your posts, if you
plan on keeping these machines stock, I think the scrammy
would be your best choice.. if you plan on adding after market
larger mud tires and wheels, go with the 700.. it can handle
the heavier weight of the larger tires better with all the torque
it has...in the end, you'll have to decide what you really want
the machine to do.. if it's just great trail riding and some mudding,
go with the scrammy. if it's trail riding(less aggressive) and mudding
with some utility work mixed in, the 700 might be your best bet.
there's no right answer for everyone, really depends on what
you want the quad to do..
