Default sportsman 600 vs 500

Went riding with a friend yesterday. I have a 03sportsman 600 he has a 500. I was quite dissapointed
when we drag raced a few times. After taking off he would pull ahead by a nose then stay even to top end around 62 mph. This happend a couple of times. We took a break and I pulled my seat off to make sure the vent hose was not pinched and it was. I hoped this would make a diff. We then went 4 another ride this time my girlfriend was on back she added another 105lbs. This time when we raced he would walk right past easily about 20-30 mph get 4 lenghts ahead and level out at top spead. I would think even with the added wgt. of my g.f. I should still smoke him. Has anyonelse raced a 500 with a 6. My machine runs fine but I am dissapointed with the power. I rode the 500 and it seams to have a lil more snap. Could my carbs be out of sinc?

Both of you tow connect to a 1500 pound trailer and then race. Won't even be close. I guess what I am saying is your 600 is meant to do some work (both engine and clutch) and that is where you will make his 500 look weak.
