10-58 weights are HEAVY HITTERS weights, heavier tip so it will pull harder on acceleration cauze of less belt slippage, recommended on high HP engines.s-58 are non-bushed weights, that mean they have lighter tip for more throttle response through the range and faster revving, recommended on lower torque hp engines.

So what your saying is our 400 would be considered a lower torque hp machine?

fullthrottle the weights are 10-58 ,the primary spring is red, driven clutch spring is purple,it seems to work pretty good i have a set of s- 58 weights from aaen that have been ground and the kit seems to work better when i put them in lots of low end but i think i lose some on the midrange and topend.

trenchdigger, Thanks for the info. A friend of mine has the 2001 xplor 400 and has been playing with springs and weights and is still yet to keep up with me. I am carrying between my winch my cargo bag, atrs on c-series and 20# xtra body weight =close to 80xtra lbs. All he has done is put boysen reeds in and played with weights and springs. Im not blowing him away but, I sure am pulling away I keep telling him to go for the clutch kit and stop farting around but, hay he must be happy eating my dust.

fullthrottle i was wondering if you know what combinations your friend had tryed because i have been playing around with a bunch of combo"s and it is hard to tell what works better because i have nothing to compare it to , i have read on here that the best set up is just changing to the polaris white primary spring , i have tryed this but i think the epi kit is better. i go in a few atv pulls and it is amazing how well this quad in stock trim does against bigger quads, know that i have a few mods ,and if i can get get my clutching figured out for pulling it should do even better. thanks pol.freak & scramblered for the info.
