Scrambler 420,
It is broke pretty close to where the bolt/bushing is on the clutch side. We already welded it but, it was hard to grind it down good and get a good bead going. It was a temp fix to get me through the Memorial Day weekend. We ordered up a new stock one, my friend said it looks much beefier than the original stock one. He has the same machine as me so when we take it off we will re-weld it and beef it up so to have a spare on hand.

Farm and fleet type stores are excellent sources for larger sockets at a very reasonable price.

My dealer here isnt worth 2 sh@#% so I will go ahead and pay for it myself. I do need to find a socket big enough to do the job. I plan on starting this job tomorrow, I took the day off from work. Is it 2 1/8" or 2 1/4" socket?

I did not remove Clutch cover on my 2000 scrambler. I removed the secondary clutch and the bolts behind it holding the cover in place and then pried it out stuck a 2x4 to hold it out and took 3/4 drive ratchet and socket and took the bolt out. The reason I did it this way because at the time I did not have the puller, now I do, and I was in a hurry to get to the drags the next day so I wanted the 5" swingarm on too bad.
It worked like a charm there is enough give in gthe plastic and It did not warp it out of shape either.

Thanks, lancems007 for the play by play and everyone who replyed to this post. The job took me about 5.5hrs with about 3 beverage breaks. I didnt use the manual at all all though I should have a couple times to speed things up. The axle/carrier needed to come off and I thought to take off the spocket side (hub also) and pull the carrier out the brake side (leftside) but, it would not go so, I took everything off on the brake side pryed the the ends open (where the pinch bolts go) and was able to get it out that way.
Everything else went back together without a hitch.
