The 2500 sounds pretty good and im sure the starting problem is because it has not been ridden much. It is a very reliable bike and easily moded to make it very quick. Bad gas, choke or just a little TLC.

Yea, it probably wont start because it has been sitting there for a long time. Thats what happens with our snowmobiles. We have them sitting all summer, then in the winter it takes forever to get started. Just needs to get the gas goin through and stuff.

I agree with the others, since it has been in storage, probably needs the cob webs worked out and then it should be fine. Dump the gas, put in fresh, clean the carb, dump the oil, put in fresh, charge/replace the battery and ride.

Actualy, the guy drove it onto the trailer, he had it prepared for storage, and took it to the dealer for a tune-up...it wouldnt start after he transported it.

lol.. I like that 69. Anyway 2500 sounds like a pretty good deal to me. As far as the belt slipping in water, if your clutch cover is worn out and you get water in it, then the belt can slip. I have a 99 scrambler and have had water in there before. I just wait for it to drain out and away I go. I have since replaced the seal on the cover and no problems anymore. As far as it not starting. If it truly hasn't been ridden much I don't think it's a big deal. probably a battery or something.
