Cracked Frame #2
#31
I took my quad to my dealer today and gave him the news. He was on the phone with a Polaris Tech rep right away. My dealer took several pictures and e-mail'd them to Polaris. He said as soon as he heard back from them he would call me. He also checked on the availabilty of a frame and said it would be 1-2 weeks to get one, but he would get my quad in ASAP for repairs as soon as the frame showed up.

Has Polaris changed the frame where it breaks on the new machines being built or are the new frames that some are having replaced under warranty any different to prevent it from happening again?
If there's no change they they will just break in the same spot again I would think? My warranty run's out Friday and I can buy extended warranty up till then but don't know if I really should or not? It's abit over $1000 in Canada.
My TLD built 16/11/02 has had 2 bushings, one headlight (mounting tab broke), and all 4 balljoints replaced so I'm hoping there made of something alittle better than what they were.

I just talked to my dealer and he said my new frame was orederd today and he also said that Polaris said that it was OK for me to weld my old frame, so I can still ride the quad till the new frame shows up. There saying its going to be 2-3 weeks to get it.
I asked if there were any changes made in the new frame, he didn't know but said he would call the Polaris Tech Rep and find out. If nothing has changed on the new one, I asked him to ask Polaris what would happen if I went and welded gussets or did something to help strengthen it and it broke again in the same spot? Would Polaris still warrenty it? When I find something out I'll post it.

I am a Polaris Fan...I know all new bikes have problems and in the past Polaris has been great when it comes to recalls. Everyone should relax and find a good dealer to work with. If you have probelms with your dealer, call Polaris direct. As to the replacement frames, I was told that they have made improvements. A recall is a recall and has nothing to do with warrantees.....Polaris will take care of us so enjoy being the Predator...not the prey
