Default Front Bearings

I'm new to the wonderful world of Polaris. I went out and bought a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4 brand new, and I haven't been able to use it that often, and so therefore, I haven't had a chance to get too familiar with the more complicated upkeep tasks. I was wondering if someone could explain to me how to go about packing the front wheel bearings so that I can save myself some money.

Thanks for the help.

You don't pack the front wheel bearings they are actually lubricated with fluid.I believe it's transmission fluid. All you have to do is drain the fluid,by removing the allen screw.Set the hole at about the 2 o clock position and refill.Hope this helps.

I know on the Sport/Scramblers, they are sealed bearings.....probably different on your utility. I would strongly suggest getting yourself a service manual. You want to talk about saving money, and headache, that's the ticket.
