96 xplorer 400 solenoid

Hi, my solenoid is shoot....can I use any other solenoid...maybe a ford one? it's 100cnd for a new one..just wondering if anyone has used a different...THANKS for any replys!

Check a www.partsland.com that sounds a little steep on the price.I payed around $50 for mine at a dealer.
