Hare scrambles
#2
The TB400 is very capable. With the carlisle holeshots on the rear you should have adeuqte traction for the course. But when you enter a Hare Scramble, you will want to remember a couple of things...A: be in shape. Racing for 1 or 2 hours can be very tiring. B: Get yourself a hydropack or camelbak, load it with water or gaterade, or a 50/50 of the 2. Another helpful item is tear-offs or a roll-off mechanism for your goggles. It may be prefereable to have your suspension set soft. There may be a motocross section, but this is only 5-10% of the entire race, and you will want to be comfortable. When you get in the tight woods, engine size is thrown right out the window. It's all about handling and rider skill and willingness to push and control without going over the edge and making mistakes. Run your first race just to have fun. Don't even try to think about placing high...it rarely happens. The adrenaline gets pumping and you make a big mistake that hurts. Just sit back and find a guy that knows what he's doing and follow him until you get comfortable...and prepared to get hooked on racing!!

Thanks pudljumpr. Physical conditon is not a prob. I'm a 3rd degree black belt and train vigorusly sevral times a week. I also mounatin bike. I have a camelback mule for biking so that's not a prob either. The tear offs are a good idea. I love hammering around the trails and runing a hare scramble just sounds like something I'd like to try. Thanks again for your reply.
