Need advice from Scrambler 400 owners!

The Polaris with the mods you mentioned would be extremely fast. If you're into drag racing, it would be top notch. The power would make up for its weight. But if you're a trailrider, the bike you have can go as fast on the trails as any out there. Face it, you can only go so fast on the trails and still maintain control. The Polaris just isn't that fast on winding trails, due to its handling characteristics. It sounds as though you've already sold yourself on the Polaris idea. I say go for it. If you decide later that it wasn't for you, you can always trade later. Remember, mods don't add squat to the resale value of a quad, so keep the stock parts. You can put them back on later if you should decide to sell it, and part out the aftermarket stuff, and recoup some of your cash.

My brother has a 99 scrambler with the hpd trail mod and it is great. It really makes a big difference. I have a 2003 500 scrambler and before he got the kit we raced and were exactly the same speed. Now he pulls completly out of sight. Everyone in our area is impressed.

Well everyone, I slept on it another night and made up my mind. I'm gonna get new shocks for the Z right away. I'm also gonna get a chain tensioner and brake splitter for the Scrambler (My wife's been wanting those for awhile now). Hopefully, I can save the money for the HPD trail mod kit by December and make that my winter project. That way, by next spring I'll have the Z and a fast Polaris. Thanks for the help eveyone!
