Default scrambler tie-rod ends?

I just replaced the ball joints on my 99 scrambler. They have an "updated" replacement part. Basically it's just the same as the inner joints with the rubber boot around it. The old ones on my 99 were more like a socket looking piece with the stud sticking out the bottom. The new ones have a hole to stick the bolt through, much like something that you would see on a snowmobile. I've only put a few miles on since the swap, but if the inner ones are showing no wear and they are the originals, I see no reason why these won't be better. I ended up paying about $35 each (ouch).
