They all breakdown! it is that simple I have owned Yamaha , honda and Polaris, and except for my Polaris they all needed something. I have only owned Polaris for less than a year. but no troubles yet. Polaris has sold 1 million atv's or is about to, and the percentage of people that post on this forum that have had trouble is extremely small, compared to the amount of Polaris atv's out there.

Atving keeps telling me he isn't going to respond or make comments on my posts, but then he goes and does it anyway. If this is any indication as to how smart atving is,then atving as a cop must be every criminals wet dream.

I've got 5 Polarises (Polari?) and have had no problems not caused by my notoriosly rough riding self and friends. I've been beating my Scramblers regularly and they have been great!

you're right pathfinder...they do all break at one point or another. look what they go through! i have a scrambler 400, had it for about 6 months. so far so good, keeping my fingers crossed. just like anything else, cars for instance, you will always run into a bad one. unfortunately americans are lazy, and don't put alot of pride into their work (most of them) unlike the foreigners. however i still think we build alot better products overall. i love my scrambler, and i hope i got one of the good ones. i just bought an RcR kit for mine, can't wait to play around with it.

bigdevil/scrambler 400...soon to be with an RcR stage 1

Yes all quads break down,it's just that polaris is an industry leader when it comes to breaking down.Actually, you polaris guys should be proud of this, its just another industry first for polaris.

I would understand some problems if I did not maintain the bike. I spend a great deal of time and effort on maintenance. My explorer is greased every hundred k, I've changed out all of the fluids twice,(1350km) and the thing is cleaned properly after I ride. You cannot do any more than that. Those of us that ride Polaris have to appreciate the performance level and put up with the quality problems.

Maybe you are taking to good of care of it Brack hehehe hope things get better, I just broke 500 miles on my 2000 Sportsman and everything is running great matter of fact it is running better now than it was when I first got it since it is getting broke in...And I know for a fact that my quad is in an area where it is highly abused because of the conditions and if you don't believe that take you a trip to WV and find out...

1993 250 2X4 - Replaced one spark plug, and air filters but still have original chain and belt. I ride in deep water all the time but I do grease my machine after river runs. I have never had a break down since I bought it. I may be lucky but this Polaris machine is as tough as woodpecker lips!

I ride with Hondas, Yamahas and Kawasakis. The Honda is the better of the three by far (the yam, and Kaws do not do well in the deep water we ride in..they eat bearing and brakes compared to the Hondas and Polaris)! I like my Polaris because of the perfomance advantage...but if I were to buy something besides a Polaris it would be a Honda.
