SICK SP700
#1
Hope someone can give some advice on one sick SP700. My bike is 2003 SP700, 230 miles
Dalton Big Wheel Clutch kit, K&N Filter, 175 main jet, Modified Stock muffler. The problem is the bike has no accerlation power, I mean none. The thing won't even run 50 mph. Its got no low or mid/top power.
Dealer told me some are good and some are bad. IF thats the case I better trade the thing.
Any help would be great.
Thanks Dave

Time for a new dealer, you knew that though....
Check to make sure the air intake under the tank is not obstructed ( the foam tends to move around) check your fuel filter, make sure your plugs aren't fowled.
If it is revving high but not going fast check your clutch to make sure the plastic nut on the spider hasn't backed off, your clutch might not be closing all the way.

I ride about 800-2000 feet. I have a heelclicker clutch kit. I modded the air box by cutting the snorkle where it goes from round to square. I put a 1.5 inch hole in the back of the muffler.
Stock I had a 162.5 main jet. I went to 175, way to rich. Dropped back to 170, still a pig. Am currently at 167.5 but am going back down to 165 as soon as I get the chance.
I think you may to too rich.

175 main jet sounds like way too big for 03 model. I run stock 155 at 1,000 feet above sea level with K&N filter as only upgrade and it runs good. I just got back from colorado where we rode at 10,000 to 14,000 feet and I ran a 140.

You need to tell the salesman or mechanic who told you that needs to be fired because my future uncle has a sp700 and that sucker flies like the wind ( and it's stock) it will go 0-50 in a snap. I mean that thing feels like it has more acceleration and power than a polaris 2-stroke. just my .02
