Scrambler 400 4x4 1995

Default Scrambler 400 4x4 1995

i had a good ride this weekend but the scrambler kept quiting on me, maybe 2 hours or 5 minute after it quite it would do it again and i could save it from quitin by choking it and then un choke and gasing .i have had the carb. cleaners tand the jets cleaned , anyone got a idea?

Check your compression it could be getting low it needs to be at least 100psi or better.

how do i check the compression and how do i check needle and seat?

Default Scrambler 400 4x4 1995

get a gauge,take out the sparkplug,hold or screw the gauge into the hole,has to be air tight,crank engine over a few times,read gauge.Will run at 100psi but not too good and will be hard to start when hot,should be in the 120psi range.

i think i burnt my belt up this weekend to i was pulling a big bear out and now the cover has a smaall burn place on it havn't opened up and looked at belt yet,

Sorry its kind of off topic but you have the same quad as me. Have you had trouble with the chain drive on the fornt whells of your 95 scrambler.

Grinding Disengageing under pressure?

You need to adjust the chains adjust all remember you have 3 different chains

Yea, I did that going through mud very slow. Just can't take the heat...

they say the worst thing you can do with an auto matic is get too crazy trying to pull some one out, you'll fry your belt very fast before you realize it, get off and push , its cheaper!
