Is the Sportsman Going To Be thrown Off Throne

Rangerchet,I never tried to jamn no quad down on anyone'a purchase.Ride what suits you best.Perhaps I have given the differances and my opionion on differant quads, but to my knowledge,No quad jaming on my behalf.
My Xplorer suits my needs well.Is it the perfect quad?Hell no.I have'nt made any negative comments about the Xplorer, cause so far, there have been non.
Now,I wish it had the ride of the Sportsman,,completely shaft driven, and IRS.But no quad has everything.I'll tell you what though, this 4x4 quad kicks some Royal A$$ for just being a 400cc two stroker. And it DONT smell like you seem to think.I like it because it is sorta between a utility quad and a sport quad.It blows away the Sportsman in a drag race to.Not that I really care, but it sure is fun knowing you are the fastest 4x4 in the pack.Sorta like ''LEADER OF THE PACK'' [remember that song?]====Bill

You bought the Traxter and you will defeat your choice no matter what. That is understandable. Will The BOMB. be a king ? If it weighted under 600 lb.and incorporated ALL Sportsman's features for 6000 dollars, then maybe.
I have no doubt that the BOMB. will be appreciated by anyone who gets on and off the seat often.

ridered: what is your reasoning behind that? What will the RUBY do that will be so great? All traxter has is the step through,so that if we go to the trails, with a dress on no one will see up it as you mount it,is that enough to kick butt on the KING,"YEAH RIGHT"?Ruby has new tranny will that kick BUTT and take you no place the KING won't?SHOW ME,talk is cheap hell they can't even get one to the dealer how can they kick BUTT.Just my 2 cents worth CM

Sorry Bill, I did not mean that I thought YOU, try to gam a quad down someone elses purchase. I was only using you as an example because, so many of us remember what you used to say about the sp 500.
You both said you liked it but you complained about lots of problems with your particular sp 500. We have also noticed that you praise your xplorer and have never complained yet about it like the sp. I noticed it any how. You know that some people do persist, when explaining why we should buy one quad or other.
Last fall, grouse hunting, there is a guy that just like me, is from cloquet and lives in the twin cities. I hunt other places to but we both also hunt grouse at this one place and we saw each other quite a few times last fall. We even know how to share the same spot. Each of us drives our atv's to a different area. We even stop and talk and plan it out when we run into each other. I forget what year his xplorer 400 is. He likes his bike allot, and has told me several stories about what he has done with it. I expect to see him again this fall bird hunting.

hehehe chicken I like that about the dress I ride my sportsman with a dress and really don't care who can see up it. hehehe I find it very enjoyable to drive my sportsman in a party dress but it is kinda tight getting my leg over the seat. Ridered what makes you think the Rubicon will have something for the KING...I haven't seen any IRS, disc brakes, true 4 wheel drive or almost a foot ground clearance maybe you are reading reviews we haven't seen yet...speaking of seen are we going to see one of these machines before summer whats up with Honda...

Since Sledder went into hideing things are kind of quite so thought I'd see if I could stir something.I'm sure the TRaxter is very capable machine still can't bring myself to get on the step through,I would imagine that like anything else it just takes getting used to.If I go rideing in a dress I just ride side saddle as I usually don't wear panties, not into the silky things.OK now lets make this understood,I'm only kidding,I don't want to see a web site with pic's of some old fat guy in a dress with my name all over it LOL
.From what I have read so far I think the Ruby is going to be a capable machine, but it still goes back to the riders ability, good rider on 300 will out do novice on 500 with all the goodies. From my own experiences any quad will go almost anywhere,it's just that I think the 500SP has the upper hand as far as ride comfort, and the true 4x4 will take you some places a little easier than limited will. But if your with your buddies and haveing a good time and you get stuck and they help you out,who gives a RATS A#$ what you or them are rideing as long as your all happy.I like pushing that limit so yes there are many times I either have to turn around or use my trusty winch.Sometimes takeing just a little different angle or path through the same place makes the difference whether you make it or you don't.I myself hope the RUBY meets everyone expectations,as I'm sure the HONDU guy's will enjoy the bigger feel and power that they will have.I know I feel invincible at times on my 500SP because of the size and power.WOW another long one, honest they don't start out that way,I'm worse that a woodpecker with a laxitive. Well bzizzi I do know that is one of the macho things of men who can pull who's machine. I know I have a buddy who is a fellow deputy who I kid all the time about jerking the rear end out of his 450...also a lot of things have to be figgered in when pulling back to back in the article was they using stock tires, weight and experience of the riders etc. etc. I would love to give a traxter a back to back with some good vamps or black waters on my sportsman...cause the P tires really s#ck...good for mud but not much else and I only ride about 20% mud when I ride so these tires have eventually got to go...

How can a traxter be better in mud than the sportsman?? it doesent have the IRS. if someone were to have a sp500 with muddrunners or vamps i would bet it would wip a traxter in the mud and prabally be close in the pull off.
maybee all the really old atv riders that cant lift there leg over the seat would like the traxter. other than that i seen no reason for the step through design.
well except it chickenman wheres his mini-skirt to a poker run or MOAB then it would be very helpfull. lol
