Can some of these Honda 4x4 lovers tell me what makes their Honda so much better than a Polaris 4x4?

1.Does limited slip make it a more effective mudder?
2.Does a smaller ground clearance make it a better mudder?
3.Does a smaller and less padded seat make it a smoother quad to ride than Polaris?
4.Does it have a better turning radius?
5.Does it have IRS?
6.Does it have the engine power of a Polaris 4x4?
7.Will any stock Honda 4x4 out drag a heavy stock 500cc Sportsman?
8.How many centuries did it take Honda to copy Liquid cooling?
9. How many centuries did it take Honda to get an Auto trans on one of their quads.
10.Is Honda's ancient drum brakes more effective than Disks?

Im sorry,I could go on,except that I promised my boss that I would be returning back to work this coming Monday from vacation.

And I really cant see posting anymore Honda questions, that could take me past Monday===LOL,BILL

You have to know any ATV can and will be removed from the most /best list, and for now, you guys crying in your mud over the Traxter series, your just going have to face it, the Traxter put terror in the heart of the others.
The day will come when some other unit will whip the Traxter line, but for now, keep you toilet paper handy.

Im probably asking for it but I would not subject myself to it if were not true.
Atv pulls put on by my club (NYTRO) as an exhibition show during a real tractor pull. A dead weight sled made of steel. Steel 2x4 runners curved up (like a snow sled) plywood deck.
With 4 railroad ties about 6 ft long on it estimated total weight about 800 lbs. Track conditions started out wet grass turned very rutted and muddy after 2 wheel drive class. 100 ft timed runs lowest combined time of 3 runs wins.
Contenders;
00 Traxter
00 Foreman 450S
99 Griz 600
98 Scrambler 500
All were stock including tires. This was before my upgrades.

WINNER 98 Scrambler 500
Could not tell you why but it is on tape if anyone cares. Believe it or not.

Bill in defense of HONDU yes some of if not all what you say is true but as I stated earlier,we rode with FOREMAN was impressive machine.Sure he dodged some stuff we ran over and there were places that the limited slip put the hurt on him, made it tougher, but all in all he was right there with us.It was extreme territory and any machine that takes abeating like that and still gets you home and is ready for next day is fine in my book. There never was a time that I heard him say boy that lite pod looks cheesey,or that his quad was more dependable than mine.I never said mine clears more rocks than yours or ride better than than your's does, but there was alot of thanks for the help guy and boy that was tough.Along with alot of sweat and attacking obsticales the best way we could if one way didn't work another would. If we had trouble attacking some thing it wasn't because he rode HONDU and me my junk POLARIS.Alot of it was rider ability he was good rider and I tryed to hold my own which I think that I did a good job of.The dirt bikers were fasinated at some of the stuff we done. Can't we all just get along and ride and enjoy this great sport, what works for me may not work for some one else but who cares as long as we are rideing. Bill, there may be some Honda lovers in here, but the arguement here centered around the Bomb. I only made one reference to Honda and that was regarding resale . . . and I only did this because someone was trying to convince me to sell the Polaris!

We're all glad that you feel so strongly about Polaris, which I have respect for. Next are you going to tell us that a 2 stroke, chain driven quad is the wave of the future for utility bikes??

I agree with you chicky everybody needs to read that post I put on here about the tree huggers saying what bad people we are, back to the subject though I will still stand my ground for the money the Sportsman is the king of the trail far as ride and mudding. I think Bill C's point was that if Honda incorporated a lot of stuff that is being put on Polaris there is a lot of us that would be switching brands...I love Honda I own a 84 CR 125 and it is a great machine I just wish Honda would add all the goodies to the Rubicon then I would be making posts telling what junk Polaris is hehehehe

Rancheres,RESALE for Honda is better? It just depends on where you are located. The same thing applies to automobile/truck sales.GM auto's sell real good in Flint Mi while Chrysler,Fords dont.Go to Detriot Mi and GM cars dont sell,Dodge and Fords do though. The same applies to quad sales to.I see more Polaris quads in Mi than any other type quad,Polaris sell well here.I cant tell you about the resale value here though.

I never once tried to convince anyone that a chain driven,2 stroke 4x4 quad is the wave of the future for utility quads. So Honda has a dependable motor, there are many happy Pol owners to.My Xplorer is not clasified as a pure utility quad either.Thats one of the things I like about it,it's not pure utility, nor is it pure sport. It's sorta like I can work with it,when im done working I can still have a decent amout of fun with it in the trails without it riding like a tank.My Sportsman was just TO heavy for the type of riding that I like to do.The Sportsman was a great worker, but at times it was just to heavy in the tight/technical trails and hills that I sometimes encounter.

Sprintpusher? You stated that the Traxter put terror in the hearts of others. Please explain what a Traxter has that im to fear with my Xplorer?I'd sure like to know so the next time I see one I can turn and go the other way.I have respect for any quad, but I sure as hell have no fear of a Traxter.===Bill

ATVing, the truth of the matter is I did'nt think the Sportsman was that much plusher than the Xplorer, that is,until myself and my brother John [he bought the Sportsman] switched rides one day on the trails. The Sportsman is no doubt, the plushest ride on the trails today.I could'nt stand the UGLY brown seat on the Xplorer,so I took it up to the upholstry shop and had them add an extra inch of padding and change the seat cover to BLACK.Dude,im lookin good now.Wrapped with 26 inch Goodyear Mudrunners completely around this baby,I can do like Dr Spock,''Go places that no man has ever gone''

Yah bro,I really love the new Xplorer.====BILL

The Sportsman is on top for one main reason and that is it's 2nd to none plush ride because of it's IRS rear end.If all the other bikes stay with plain straight axle rear suspensions it may never be knocked off the thrown.I can not wait for any maker of ATVs to build a utility bike that rides nicer than a Sportsman and I will be in the front of the line to buy one no matter who builds it.Power was important to me once but I see my freinds with smaller bikes go everwhere I can go but after being in this sport for a few years smoothing out the the rough ride is the most important thing to me now.
