2000 scrambler 500 4x4 my belt is ruined and my dealer says the belt is 50 dollars, so whats the deal with the gates belt will it work and whats the part number because I have a Napa store in town. Also I dont no if I have ebs or not so any help would be great so I can ride saturday. Thanks Does the gates work with ebs and non ebs, and does anyone know if the 2000 had it or not?

 

yours doesn't have EBS (engine braking system) I don't think napa will have one in stock or even carry one. I have one from HPD. It was fifty bucks but it will hold up to a seventy five horsepower engine. It is kevlar. I recommend you get one of these

 

The belt from the dealer should only be $40. That is the best belt to get unless you have a highly modified machine, then the Kevlar belt is the way to go. The Gates belt is the same as the HPD belt. It is for a non EBS machine. Gates belt #19AT4090. They may have to order it. Unless someone added it to your machine, then it should not have EBS. Hope this helps
