In a Hare Scramble, it rarely matters what you have under the seat. There is a guy on a bone stock 300ex that can school a lot of people. That machine is so tiny he just flies through the woods, and if we hit an open section, he will have created enough gap that he's safe till the next woods!

I would strongly suggest stopping by one of your local events prior to racing in one. Make the rounds around the pits, and talk to fellow racers. Most are very open and helpful....there are always some exceptions. Scout things out, then get signed up, you'll have a blast....and always ride within your skill level.

PmanX8, Your blaster potentiall has all you need for woods racing, and their narrow and light so you could really fly. Get yourself some protective gear, and enter a race...just for fun the first time. If you try to win right away...you could get hurt...cause they really throw some challangeing stuff out there...and you mix it with speed and adrenaline and sometimes you lose your better judgement. Just sign up in a local circuit and enjoy yourself and as Modquad said, talk to guys in the pits, see what helps them. Most quad guys are very helpful...and some really aren't shy about showing off the machine!!

Hey thanks guys, that helps. so the riding gear is "required" right?, i have my helmet(never ride without it:cool but thats it, im guessing ill need chest protector, and boots, do i have to wear riding pants and jersey? and what all classes are there for scrambles? because i really dont like bragging, but i am really good at the technical stuff and im good at riding my blaster through tight trails and woods. i just want some friendly competition and have fun, but i do get very "competion oriented" at times, so i think i have what it takes.
thanks again i appreciate the info.

Chest protector and boots are definitely needed. A set of roll-off style goggles is also very helpful. Last but not least, a water-pack.
