Default 2-stroke syn oil or not

We did quite a bit of testing a few years back on two stroke pre mix oils. We dynoed and feild tested many on 200 plus hp snowmobile engines turning high rpm(over 10000). You have to watch synthetics in my opinion. An interesting note is that plain old Polaris blue injector oil was as good or better than some expensive ones. Most oils are fine for average trail riding, and you will hear lots of claims that so and so has run this oil for years and so on. Some of these VERY well known synthetics that are multi level marketed start out at about 8bucks a gallon and work there way up to 35 a gallon unless you are some kind of preferred customer, whatever. We based findings on ring and piston wear, wrist pins on regular tear downs, nickasil wear, etc. #1 was REDLINE two stroke racing pre-mix. Other ones that were good were.. Klotz R-50 and Golden Spectro. I'm sure there are others that are good. I have heard good reports from Maxima 927,but some castor bases do not mix well with all fuel from what i hear. I'm not here to start anything, but I will say that one very popular synthetic(that we used to use too)does not cut it for more extreme conditions. Oil conversations can get firey,so please feel free to make your own descisions.

Default 2-stroke syn oil or not

I have been thinking about switching brands because last winter at Glamis I had a seize happen and when I tore it down it was extremly dry. Every other time I had it down it seemed to be well lubricated, but this was the first time I ran straight 100 octane and I got it from a station I had not purchased from before. I mixed at 40 to 1 like I always did and I chalked it up to the fact that I may have got in a hurry and did not mix it enough in the gas can. I usually pour the oil in first and then the gas at the station and by the time I get to where I am going it is mixed good to pour in the bike. This time I left the oil back at camp, But now that you said some easter oils might not miox with some gas maybe that was it. I think I will switch now just to be sure. Thanks for the input Helix.
